SUMMER PREP

MAY 23rd – JUNE 6, MEMORIAL DAY

Things are heating up!

This is a very big maintenance step that will help keep issues from popping up in your lawn moving forward.

  • We will be addressing fungus, grubs, and other issues in this step.
  • Get everything down in the morning when it is cool and water in with 1x irrigation right after.

APPLICATIONS

Apply all products safely on the same day!

  • Apply Milorganite (11.5 setting on Scott’s EdgeGuard) or other Organic fertilizer
  • Apply Humate (14 setting on Scott’s EdgeGuard) or other Humic acid product
  • Apply Fungus control product at bag recommended setting
  • Apply Grub control product at bag recommended setting
    • This application will need to be watered in
  • Spray with lawn safe selective herbicide (only if daytime temps are below 90) or pull.
  • OPTIONAL N-EXT Application – 6oz/1000sqft MicroGreen and 6oz/1000sqft of D-Thatch
    • Using Ortho Dial N Spray, I use the 3 – 4oz setting and walk at a brisk pace.

MOWING AND IRRIGATION

  • Mow at 3 1/2 – 4″ (measured from flat surface to bottom of mower deck)
    • Always mulch unless the lawn is covered in garbage left over from the winter, then, bag the first mow and mulch after that.
  • 2-3x per week
    • 1x irrigation is equal to 20 minutes with pop up spray type sprinkler and 45 minutes with rotor type sprinklers (1hr 20 min with mp rotators)
